Jermaine Wood : Suspect in deadly Brampton stabbing in custody

Peel Police report Jermaine Wood has been taken into custody. And concern for community safety in regards to this matter is over.

Jermaine Woods, 29, of Brampton, was wanted in the killing of a 61-year-old man.

At around 6:30 p.m., police tweeted that Woods was in custody.

He will face a murder charge at a court appearance Wednesday.

Police tell CityNews they are in the process of interviewing Woods, and haven’t yet determined if the charge will be first or second-degree murder.

Police said they received a call for a man in distress and found him bleeding at an apartment building at Leslie Street and Campbell Drive, near McLaughlin Road North around 1 p.m.

The man had life-threatening stab wounds to the head and was rushed to hospital, where he died.
