A Canadian model was allegedly involved in smuggling over 50,000 MDMA pills and about 40 kilograms of the drug before being apprehended at a California airport on Thursday.
Krista Marieann Boseley and fellow Canadian Gilles Joseph Pierre Lapointe were both charged in the incident, documents obtained by The Smoking Gun reveal.
According to the New York Daily News, a drug sniffing dog alerted officers to traces of narcotics in their baggage and the plane and after searching both investigators found Lapointe, 61, had around £8,000 in US dollars, while Bosely had around £4,700 in US dollars in hers.
They both claimed they won the cash while gambling at the famous Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas, but when officers searched the plane they found the massive haul of drugs along with digital scales and a GPS tracker detector – a device used by drug smuggles to see if police are following them.
Boseley, who has worked as a real estate agent in Vancouver, is a tattoo enthusiast who once posed for a series of naked photos during a Playboy open call.
Lapointe’s due in court October 24, though it’s unclear when Boseley will appear in front of a judge.
