A man from Barrie, Ont., has been charged after a young woman was allegedly abducted at gunpoint in the city’s downtown core.
The 35-year-old man is facing two weapons charges, as well as a breach of probation.
A woman — first believed to be a minor, later identified as a 24-year-old from Midhurst — was allegedly forced into a car in downtown Barrie. She was later found by police.
Initially taken into cutody, a 36-year-old Toronto woman was later released unconditionally after investigators found she wasn’t involved.
No word yet on whether the accused and victim know each other.
