A mother and daughter already charged with animal cruelty in B.C. are facing fresh charges after RCMP discovered dozens of animals in distress on a rural property near Cereal, A.B.
The pair were found at a rural residence south of Cereal, AB.
Investigators discovered several animals that were being neglected and a new investigation into animal cruelty was initiated.
Officers found 11 horses, 25 dogs and 17 birds that were in distress.
With the help of the SPCA all of the animals were treated by a vet and relocated.
The mother and daughter have both been charged with failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, cruelty to animals, wilful neglect of animals and possession of stolen property.
The pair is set to appear in court next month.
