An extensive ground search is underway near Barrie after police received new information related to the mysterious disappearance of Nicole Morin nearly three decades ago.
Nicole Morin was eight years old when she disappeared in July 1985, after leaving her Etobicoke apartment to go swimming with a friend. About 40 Toronto and provincial police officers, along with dogs, are searching ditches in Springwater township.
They describe the search as very preliminary.
In July, police released a re-enactment video, in hopes of jogging memories for clues to Nicole’s disappearance.
