Toronto police have identified the victim of a west-end Toronto shooting as 33-year-old Marlon Lennox Mason.
Mason was shot while outside at a birthday BBQ on Cambell Ave near Patton Road in the west end around 10:30 on Wednesday evening.
Friends who heard the gunshots, loaded Mason into a car and rushed him to hospital, where he later died.
Police say the victim was not known to them, but they do believe the shooting was a targetted attack, based on the fact there were no other victims.
Mason volunteered at a community radio station, doing a morning show that aired once a week. (CIUT)
Homicide detectives are asking anyone who was in the area of Bloor and Landsdowne at the time, to give them a call.
