Ontario Man charged following allegedly threatening to blow up Parliament Hill

Police in southwestern Ontario have arrested a man who allegedly threatened to blow up the Parliament buildings in Ottawa.

On April 10th, Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by the RCMP to follow up a possible threat.

Police say a Chatham man had called the Library of Parliament, stating that he wanted to blow up Parliament Hill, as part of a revolution.

The suspect, David Osterbrook 49, was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with Hoax – Terrorist Activity, as well as Uttering Threats.

Osterbrook remains in custody and is remanded until Monday for a bail hearing.
