OPP : Minivan clocked at 171 km/h on Highway 401

Chatham-Kent OPP say a driver has been charged with racing a motor vehicle after the minivan he was driving was clocked at 71 km/h over the limit.

Police say an officer stopped a Dodge Caravan in the westbound lanes of the highway near Communication Rd. Saturday after recording it going 171 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The driver has been charged with racing a motor vehicle, his licence has been suspended, and the vehicle has been impounded.
