Pedestrian killed by train in Maple Ridge : RCMP

One person is dead after being struck by a CP train on Sunday afternoon in Maple Ridge.

The woman was struck along the CP Rail tracks at around 1 p.m. near the 203rd Street crossing.

RCMP say they have identified the victim, but are still trying to contact next of kin.

The incident closed the Maple Meadows crossing and 203rd Street crossing at Hammond Road.

Investigators were at the scene interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. The circumstances of the accident are not yet known.
