Police : Body found in NE pond deemed a homicide

Police have identified a man found dead in a northeast Calgary pond earlier this week and declared his death the city’s latest homicide.

Colton James Crowshoe, 18, was found floating in a small pond near 16 Ave. and Stoney Tr. N.E. on Thursday.

The cause of death is not being released at this time and it’s not known just how long the victim has been deceased for.

The victim had been reported missing after being last seen by friends in the Abbeydale area of northeast Calgary on July 4.

This was Calgary’s 20th homicide of 2014.
