Neighbours say a City Centre father and his two sons who are feared dead were reported missing early Friday as the man and his wife appeared set to divorce.
Police have yet to say whether the disappearance of Samuel Masih, 36, and his two boys, 10-year-old Tyrese and 4-year-old Shantosh, is linked to the grisly discovery of three charred bodies inside a burnt-out vehicle north of Barrie.
“His wife called it in and reported them missing,” Const. Thomas Routtan said. “Apparently, he had called her and said they were going to a movie and they did not show up at home.”
Then early Friday morning, three bodies were found burned beyond recognition in a car near Oro Medonte, north of Barrie. The OPP confirmed the car was a four-door hatchback. Masih drives a Toyota SUV that hasn’t been seen since.
Police are now looking into whether the two cases are connected.
“We don’t ever want to kind of pigeonhole ourselves into one belief, so we leave everything open,” Routtan said, adding police would compare the two vehicles.
The three bodies were brought to Toronto and will autopsied on Tuesday.
