A suspect in a string of lottery ticket thefts this spring has been identified and is now facing 17 theft charges.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect and arrest 33-year-old Jason Perfect of Port Coquitlam in connection with the alleged thefts.
According to Corporal Jamie Chung, different security footage showed man attempting to purchase a large amount of lottery tickets with a credit card.
“However, in most incidents, the card was declined despite several attempts,” said Chung.
While the clerk was making sure the PIN pad was working properly, the suspect would grab the lottery tickets and run out of the store.
Perfect is facing 17 theft charges and has been held in custody since his arrest on April 14th. He will appear in court on Friday, April 24th.
