Shock and anger from parents of a Montreal school after learning their children are reportedly attending the same school as Karla Homolka’s children.
Homolka served a twelve-year sentence in a Quebec prison for manslaughter in the sex slayings of two Ontario schoolgirls.
Homolka, who now goes by the name Leanne Bordelais, has children of her own who attend school and many parents are upset that they were not advised of the situation.
One mother says she was shocked to learn that her children are friends with Homolka’s children.
The principal of the school refused to confirm or deny the reports but the school board’s director general says a statement will be sent home to parents.
Many parents are demanding answers and say they are ready to pull their kids out of the school.
In 2012, journalist Paula Todd tracked Homolka down to a residence in the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, where she was living with her husband–the brother of her former lawyer–and their children. Todd’s published an e-book about her encounter and interview with Homolka.
