Six-year-old dies in Berens River : RCMP

A six-year-old boy is dead after going into respiratory distress at Berens River School on Wednesday.

Foul play is not suspected, said RCMP.

The incident happened about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on the grounds of Berens River School. The boy was taken to the nearby nursing station, where he was pronounced dead.

RCMP say an autopsy has been scheduled. A team of counsellors were in the community Thursday to provide help to children, school staff, and community members dealing with the tragedy.
