The 15-year-old son of a prominent Canadian diplomat working in Miami has been arrested, according to a report in The Miami Herald, after authorities say he was involved in a drug deal that ended with his older brother and another teen dead.
The Canadian government says it is aware of reports of a serious incident involving a Canadian family in Miami, and that Canadian officials are providing assistance to the family.
The Canadian consulate in Miami is redirecting inquiries to Foreign Affairs headquarters.
Dube began her posting only weeks ago.
She arrived in Miami earlier this year, after having been appointed in November 2014 and having served as ambassador to Zimbabwe from 2005 to 2008.
The Miami Herald says another man was killed during the incident on Monday and that a fourth male was wounded and drove away, and was later found at a gas station.
