Three people are dead and one person was airlifted to hospital after a single vehicle accident south of Edmonton on the QEII Highway.
At about 10:40 RCMP got a 911 call about a crash in the southbound lanes of Highway 2 south of Edmonton.
Three of the vehicle occupants died at the scene. Another person was airlifted by STARS to Edmonton.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown, however police believe the fatalities and critical injury was result of the SUV losing control and rolling over. The SUV had four adult occupants.
The QE II Southbound is expected to be closed for a number of hours as police conduct their investigation. A collision re-constructionist is on scene. RCMP encourage motorists to seek alternate routes south of Edmonton.
