Police are investigating a fatal crash after a vehicle was located down an embankment Thursday afternoon during their search for three people reported to be missing in the area.
Wednesday (June 11) afternoon, Lytton RCMP were alerted to a report of three missing people who were due to return from the Pasulko Lake area.
Searches of the area Wednesday failed to turn up any sign of the group.
Rescue crews resumed their efforts on Thursday morning and in the afternoon, crews were found a car associated with the missing people that had gone down an embankment.
Three people were found dead at the scene, while a fourth person suffered serious injuries. It’s unclear if the fourth individual was connected to the missing group.
Lytton RCMP continue to investigate what caused the vehicle to leave the road and plunge down the embankment.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
