Toronto Man dead after shooting at Danforth café

A man in his 20s is dead after a shooting at a café on Danforth Avenue early Tuesday morning.

According to police, multiple gunshots were fired at the Rotana Café, on the Danforth just west of Coxwell Ave., around 1:30 a.m.

A victim was sent to hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

A second man was taken to hospital with cuts.

The shooter is believed to have fled the scene on foot before getting into a vehicle parked on Rhodes Ave. and driving away.

Danforth is closed between Coxwell and Monarch Park Avenues while police investigate.

Police have asked anyone with information or surveillance footage of the shooting to come forward.
