At least two people were injured after a violent incident in a pool hall in Saint-Eustache, northwest of Montreal.
All of this went down at 3:45 a.m. just after closing said Sûrété du Québec Sgt. Geneviève Bruneau. The police of St-Eustache asked the SQ to step into the investigation.
The suspects in this case, and Bruneau could not say at 6 a.m. how many there were, entered the bar and shot the patron. As they were fleeing, a bar employee, possibly a bouncer, tried to stop them and got knifed for his troubles.
The employee was treated but his life is not in danger. The man who was shot was taken to a trauma centre in Montreal to be treated.
