Two people were killed in a crash near the Pilot Butte turnoff on the Trans-Canada Highway Wednesday evening.
RCMP say an SUV which was heading southbound struck a westbound truck killing both occupants of the SUV–a man and woman both in their 60’s from Emerald Park.
The names of the dead have not been released.
The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
RCMP say the westbound lanes of highway 1 will be closed for several hours as they investigate.
