A brother and a sister are in hospital after being pulled from the water at Bluffers Park in Scarborough, Toronto police say. The eight-year-old boy was rescued at the western edge of the Scarborough beach — located at the southern end of Brimley Rd. S. — around 11:20 a.m., according to police and paramedics.

A 74-year-old man, who was hit and killed Wednesday night by a bullet meant for someone else, has been identified as Ping Sun Ao of Abbotsford. According to Ao’s granddaughter Jennifer Leong, the man had been planning a trip to China just next month.

The mother of a two-month-old girl has been charged with murder, four months after the infant died in a Winnipeg hospital. Police say the two-month-old baby suffered severe injuries and was brought to hospital April 27. She died the next day.
