Three people were killed when an explosion hit a railway station in the capital of China’s western Xinjiang region, state media reported. Reports say 79 people have been injured in the blast at Urumqi’s southern railway station on Wednesday. Xinhua news agency quoted police saying “knife-wielding mobs slashed people” at an exit of the station and set off a bomb.
