Andrew Keegan : Teen heartthrob-turned-New Age guru busted for selling unlicensed kombucha in the most LA crime ever

Andrew Keegan, an actor best known for his role in 90s classics like 10 Things I Hate About You and 7th Heaven, and his “new-age religion”/”spiritual movement” called Full Circle — that may or may not actually be a cult — were busted as part of an undercover police sting for selling illegal kombucha.

“Such an abuse of tax payers money that 5 police officers would be sent to a temple,” Andrew Keegan wrote on Instagram.

A spokesperson for the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) said undercover officers seized containers of kombucha at the Full Circle spiritual centre in Venice on May 8.

“We’re a complaint-driven agency, so when someone notifies us about what might be an illegal activity, we respond to it,” ABC Special Agent Will Salao told The Argonaut.

“They were cited for a misdemeanour for selling alcohol without a license.”

The event was reportedly raising funds for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, founded by Toronto native Paul Watson.

Andrew Keegan was well known for starring in films like 1999’s 10 Things I Hate About You and the TV series 7th Heaven.

The 36-year-old co-founded Full Circle, described on its website as “an open source spiritual community center that offers regular yoga and growth-oriented workshops.”

Andrew Keegan told The Argonaut his group didn’t know it was illegal to sell kombucha, which has less than one per cent alcohol.

    1. Kombucha is illegal in the States? And guns are not? Good lord. Better belt them with Kinder Eggs.
