Canadian Woman makes statement about true beauty

A Canadian woman has flawlessly fought back at unrealistic beauty standards after a salesman attempted to convince her she needed anti-ageing products.

Annick Robinson says she was traveling through the Calgary International Airport when she was stopped by a salesman trying to sell her some anti-aging cream— who told her it would prevent her wrinkles from getting deeper by the time she’s 45.

According to her Facebook post, Annick told the man, “what’s wrong with a woman looking 40?”

After he continued the hard sell Annick finally shut him down.

“I look fine now, and when I’m 45 I will look fine, and when I’m 50 I will look fine, because there is nothing wrong with a woman aging. Old age is a privilege denied to many, and I don’t appreciate you marketing youth instead of your products, and denigrating aging women as a sales tactic. Thank you, but I don’t want or need your cream.”

Annick says she was shocked at how the message resonated with people, adding that she hopes to see a big change in how women view themselves.

“Let’s start a movement peeps, let’s end predatory marketing practices that sell self-loathing to women from cradle to grave. Women have more important things to do in 2016 than spend a single other minute worried about our wrinkles or the acceptability of our thighs.”
