Groupe BPCE, is using Twitter to enable person-to-person payments through the social media platform.
Developed by Groupe BPCE’s S-Money with Twitter’s API, the service will allow anyone in France with a linked bank account to send and receive money with a tweet at no cost.
S-Money CEO Nicolas Chatillon said in a statement: “(S-Money) offers Twitter users in France a new way to send each other money, irrespective of their bank and without having to enter the beneficiary’s bank details, with a simple tweet.”
The money transfer service comes as part of the social network giant’s efforts to venture into online payments business.
