Hubert Tang wins $1 million after buying california lottery tickets with $20 found at airport.
Bartender Hubert Tang used a $20 bill he saw outside of the San Francisco International Airport to buy two California State Lottery tickets on a whim. As he scratched off his $1,000,000 Jackpot! Scratchers tickets, Tang couldn’t believe what he saw.
“I told my friend who I was with that I didn’t know if this was real but, ‘I think I just won a million dollars,’” said Tang, who won the prize Wednesday. The last time he had bought a Lotto ticket was a decade ago.
Tang said he didn’t know what he would do with the money, adding, “For now I am just going to put it in savings.”
Tang purchased his ticket at Andrea’s Market, 1601 El Camino Real in Millbrae. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus because it sold a winning ticket.
