Princess Leia’s slave costume could fetch $120000 at auction.
Princess Leia’s iconic costume, worn in 1983’s Return of the Jedi, will go under the hammer on October 1 at California’s Profiles in History auction house.
The bikini is one of 50 lots of original Star Wars props owned by those involved with the film, which will go on sale next month.
Despite only featuring in two scenes, when Leia was being held captive by Jabba the Hutt, the costume has become synonymous with the character.
Auction house representative Brian Chanes, said: “It’s every schoolboy’s fantasy but it’s also a very signature, iconic piece.”
Another item which is expected to attract interest at the sale is a 16-inch replica model of the spaceship that carried Princess Leia in the 1977 film, from the collection of visual effects Oscar-winner Grant McCune.
Other items going under the hammer include original scripts, movie posters, prototype Darth Vader helmets and cameras used on set.
