Grumpy Cat is going to be the star of her own movie and will be voiced by Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza.
The internet’s favourite misanthropic feline will star as an overlooked pet store cat that can communicate with a 12-year-old girl named Chrystal.
The show will be written by SpongeBob SquarePants’ Tim Hill and Jeff Morris, with Hill also directing.
Grumpy Cat has made a number of public appearances this year, including her second birthday celebration in New York. She also appeared at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards wearing a Pharrell Williams-inspired Mountie hat.
Plaza will also star in the seventh and final season of Parks and Recreation, which is expected to premiere midseason on NBC. The final run of the Amy Poehler comedy will comprise 13 episodes.
Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever will air on Lifetime on Saturday, November 29 at 8pm ET/PT.
