A South Jersey man off the coast of Cape May got way more than he bargained for – an encounter with a great white shark – and it was all caught on video.
Clark told NBC10 that he and his friends fish in a private boat named “35 Everglades”. They work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). They tag sharks in the ocean off the NJ coast as part of a cooperative program called the Apex Predator Program.
Clark adds that great white shark sightings are not that uncommon this time of year.
The great white shark reportedly swam around the vessel for 20 minutes before eating the entire chum basket.
