Infrared camera catches Keys sea turtle hatchlings (Video)

Look at them go – these tiny sea turtles hatched in the Keys this weekend.

The turtle cam caught the moment when the sea turtles got out of the nest and ran towards water.

The special video is part of the keys effort to raise awareness for the need to protect sea turtles.

“It’s so important; especially here in the Keys to protect these nests and these turtles, they’ve been around millions of year,” said Save-A-Turtle President Harry Appel.

The Florida Keys is the habitat of several sea turtle species, and the loggerhead sea turtles are among those considered threatened and endangered
