The Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks is offering special activities August 10-17 to celebrate their own Shark Week.
Visitors to the aquarium this week get to witness more shark feedings up close the shark tank is the main attraction at the aquarium half a million gallons of water is home to 19 different sharks.
“It’s like watching a scary movie, people like to get the thrill and the scare but we also put the educational message in with it so that people understand why sharks are so critically important and fun to watch,” said Teri Bowers, Oklahoma Aquarium director.
The aquarium is also collecting plastic bags for an art project.
Crews will build a “trash-formation” shark using plastic grocery bags and then recycle it.
