In most cases, people in Florida will put chicken, steak or pork on the grill during the holiday weekend. One Florida family decided to put a python under the grill.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says a family in Florida City used their grill to trap a 12-foot-long Burmese python that was found slithering near their home.
“My daughter said there’s a snake come to the gate, tell me what it is. I said I’ll be right there, and I look and it’s on the lady’s porch,” Daryl Brooks, who saw the snake, said. “It was huge and I said oh my God it’s a python and the head was bigger than my hand.”
A group of people eventually trapped the giant snake under a BBQ grill cover. They used a pillow case to grab its tail.
Authorities who showed up said the python was not someone’s pet and it came from the wild.
