Matt Gold is getting lots of attention — and questions — lately because his 54-year-old mother wants to be an NFL cheerleader.
Brenda Gold is taking steps to become the newest member of the Ben-Gals, the Cincinnati Bengals’ cheerleading squad.
“She was probably watching a Bengals game and saw the cheerleaders and said to herself, ‘I can do that,'” Gold’s son, Matt Gold, told USA Today, before adding, “She probably can, too.”
Gold recently entered a makeover contest on daytime TV show Live With Kelly And Michael.
Co-host Michael Strahan, a former NFL superstar, had heady praise for the Fishers, Ind., native.
“Coming from a guy who came from sports, you can cheer for my team anytime,” Strahan said on-air.
Gold played volleyball at the University of Kentucky, according to USA Today, and danced for most of her life.
She will audition for the Ben-Gals in May.
