Jillian Michaels parted ways with “The Biggest Loser” for the third time last month as announced in a statement released by NBC. Now, she has opened up about the reason why she really left the reality series.
“In the beginning of the show it was tough love. You saw the tough, and you saw the love,” she told People. But recent episodes didn’t show that. “You saw none of the relationships, none of the bonds that I build with my clients,” she added, and as a result “millions of people have this warped negative perception of me.”
When that perception started to affect her life with partner Heidi Rhoades and their children Phoenix and Lukensia, Jillian knew it was time to make a change.
“I had to take a hard look at my work. I came to the conclusion that moving forward, I need to be able to have an impact on the outcome of what I do.”
Totally understandable… and shows like The Biggest Loser are on the way out anyway, right?
