WWE (NYSE: WWE) announced today that WWE Superstar, John Cena, was honored by Make-A-Wish last week at their “Evening of Excellence Awards Ceremony” for being the only celebrity to reach the record-breaking milestone of fulfilling 300 wishes.
Cena became the first recipient of the 300th Wish Award at the annual Make-A-Wish awards ceremony in Glendale, AZ. His award was presented by wish mom Judith Harrison, whose late son Justin was the second wish child Cena ever met, before an audience of hundreds of Make-A Wish national and chapter staff, volunteer leaders, and wish families.
Cena met with seven year old Jonathan Littman and his parents for the 300th wish. Cena then went one step further and invited Littman and his parents to attend the upcoming 1,000th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw in a few weeks.
“It was awesome!” Littman said about meeting his favorite WWE Superstar.
Littman had a present of his own for Cena – a paper star with a note wrote on the back of it.
“Because of your positive attitude and example, Jonny never gives up,” it read. “Thank you, John Cena. You are one of Jonny’s special stars.”
Cena has completed 300 wishes over eight years.
“It felt very good to accomplish the milestone of 300 wishes,” Cena said. “Today was a fantastic day, but no greater or less important than any other wish I’ve been able to be a part of.”
