First it was the sexy women. Then it was their crazy uniforms. And now it’s the awesome wipe outs that provide us with the latest reason to care about curling at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
As for the wipe out that we have for you on this occasion, it comes at the expense of Russian skip Andrey Drozdov, who was able to lead his side to a 7-6 victory over Switzerland on Thursday, despite having some obvious balance issues at times.
“The ice is slippery,” said Russian skip Andrey Drozdov. “I slipped and fell on it.”
“It really is slippery,” agreed Swiss skip Sven Michel. “Do not listen to people who say the ice is not slippery.
“It is slippery,” he said.
When asked if anything else in Sochi is slippery, Drozdov replied, “The soap, in the shower. It is slippery. Also some of the snow, which is more packed-in, but is not quite ice – snow can be slippery.
“Mostly, though, it is the ice, which is slippery.”
