Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update for Galaxy Note 5, Report

Samsung started pushing Android 6.0 to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge earlier this week, and now it looks like the push has been extended to another Galaxy flagship.

The Canadian carrier Telus has announced that the Marshmallow update will be available to the Note 5 on March 9, the same day when the Galaxy S6 will be upgraded. In the US, T-Mobile is one of the carriers that will roll out the Marshmallow update to the phablet, as well, after, a few weeks ago, the company said that they’re stuck in the “Manufacturer Development” stage, but after the tests from Samsung’s lab will be over, T-Mobile will also start the tests. After the green light will be given, Samsung and T-Mobile will push out the update to the Note 5 users.

The other US carriers that haven’t confirmed that they’ll roll out the Android Marshmallow to the Note 5 yet are AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular, while in the rest of the world, the carriers that are silent about their plans to upgrade the Samsung phablet are: Rogers (Canada), Vodafone (Australia), Optus (Australia) and Telstra (Australia).

According to some leaks, in the Android 6.0.1 beta for the Note 5 were included bug fixes and hundreds of new emojis. In the meantime, Samsung has released the Marshmallow Guide for Consumers, so the users will have an idea about what changes will bring Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the eligible smartphones and tablets. The update will include the Samsung Internet 4.0 browser, which is more secure and has a new functionality, alongside the Secret Mode; Cross App boost and support for Samsung’s Gear VR.
