Official pricing information for the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV has now been revealed, bringing with it no real surprises. The starting price in the US is $37,495 and the starting price in Canada is CAD$42,795. With current conversion rates, though, that Canadian price is actually about USD$5,000 lower than the US price.
In certain Canadian provinces, government purchase and financing incentives can sweeten the deal. Bolt EV buyers can benefit from a pre-tax rebate of $12,839 in Ontario, $8,000 in Quebec and $5,000 in British Columbia.
The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will offer a driving range of 383 kilometres, again, exceeding the company’s initial projections. According to Alan Batey, GM held its promise in terms of both price and range. It becomes the first long-range, but affordable, fully electric car on our market.
This new model will be on sale in the beginning of 2017. The base-trim Chevrolet Bolt LT will offer a rearview camera, wheel-mounted paddles to control the Regen on Demand function and a 10.2-inch touchscreen as standard equipment. The Premier trim will notably add leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats as well as a 360-degree camera system. In Canada, all versions of the Bolt will include a DC quick charger outlet and a tire inflation kit.
