A flight on its way to Tulsa has been delayed due to an emergency landing in Dallas.
American Airlines Flight 2287 was on its way to Tulsa from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Thursday when it declared an emergency and returned to DFW.
Officials say the emergency was due to flames in the right engine of the Boeing 757.
The flight landed at DFW just after 2 p.m. No one was injured.
David Magana, an airport spokesman, told the media the airport crew found nothing of “immediate issue” after inspecting the plane.
The 183 passengers on board were put on a different plane before leaving for Tulsa. No one was hurt in the incident.
American Airlines would not confirm the fire, but told local media that mechanics were checking the plane.
On Wednesday, another American Airlines jet, which had taken off from Little Rock, Arkansas bound for Dallas, Texas, was diverted to Tulsa International Airport in Oklahoma because of mechanical issues. None of the 137 passengers on board was injured either.
