Aiden Webb, 22, from Norwich, had set off to climb Fansipan mountain on his own last Friday. His body was found by rangers in Sin Chai village at 12:50 p.m. local time Thursday.
The former Cambridge student’s body was found by rangers in Sin Chai village at 12:50 local time (06:50 BST), the head of the Hoang Lien National Park told the BBC:
“It is very sad that we found the British tourist body today,” Nguyen Quang Vinh said.
“The position is quite near the location that his girlfriend gave us, in Sin Chai village.”
Aiden had been travelling with his girlfriend Bluebell Baughan and had alerted her girlfriend on Friday, saying he was in trouble, had hurt his knee, torn open his arm and lost his flashlight after falling by a waterfall.
Last week his family set up a Facebook page called “Help us find Aiden in Vietnam” and his father and uncle flow over to help look for him.
Following reports that his body had been found, friends and family paid tribute to the aspiring actor on his Facebook page.
Luke Enenra Muszalik described Mr Webb as “hercules”.
He posted: “Such a genuine guy, true friend and legend! One of my biggest inspirations! Love you bro! Gonna miss you big.”
