Amanda Palmer posted this photo on Instagram to announce it a few minutes ago, and if you’ve read her book, The Art of Asking, you know just how meaningful this pregnancy must be.
So, one of our favorite comic/fantasy creators and one of our favorite musicians are having a baby together. Either this kid will be a SUPER ARTISTIC GENIUS, or they’ll totally rebel by being really good at math. Either way, we win!
Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman announced they were dating in 2009, and were engaged a year after. In 2011, they got married surrounded with friends and family. Amanda is three months pregnant, and Neil is father to three children — Michael, Holly and Madeleine — with his ex-wife Mary McGrath.
Amanda Palmer is an American songwriter-performer who first appeared as the lead singer in the duo the Dresden Dolls. The couple’s first baby is due in September.
Meanwhile, Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” movie adaptation is progressing, according to the screenplay writer, David S. Goyer. In an interview with Deadline, he shared “I hesitate to definitively say when it might go before the cameras, but the one thing different between other iterations and ours is that Neil Gaiman has been in the room with us and is a vital part of the team… We have a draft Warners is very happy with and we’re moving forward, knock on wood.”
Joseph Gordon-Levitt also talked about the movie adaptation and excitedly so. According to Reddit, “Been doing a lot of work with David Goyer and Jack Thorne, working on the screenplay,” shared Levitt. “We’ve been doing our meetings at the DC office, which is a frickin rad place to work. Also just had a great conversation last week with David and Mr. Gaiman. Neil has been extremely big hearted with me, and he’s the one I want to please most.”
Congrats to the Palmer/Gaiman clan!
