Amy Schumer’s ‘Star Wars’ GQ spread has been blasted as “inappropriate”.
Lucasfilm have said they ‘didn’t approve’ the use of Star Wars imagery or characters in GQ’s raunchy Amy Schumer cover, after the Trainwreck actress was pictures sucking C3PO’s finger in a Princess Leia-style bra.
The shoot, in the August issue of the men’s magazine, shows Schumer paying homage to the Star Wars universe, doing can-can dancing with Stormtroopers, smoking a cigarette in bed with R2D2 and sticking a lightsaber in her mouth.
After receiving complaints from fans, who thought the shoot was distasteful, Lucasfim, which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2012, said in a tweet that they were never consulted over the use of their intellectual property.
@CPThrio @icecoldpenguin Lucasfilm & Disney didn't approve, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner

“Lucasfilm & Disney didn’t approve, participate in or condne the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner,” they said.
While some fans pointed out that the use of the characters is a testament to the Star Wars universe’s cultural significance, the fact theLucasfilm is now owned by Disney, a family company, is a major factor into the backlash.
Amy Schumer has not responded to the criticism, but she has found a fan in the original Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill:
Got excited when I saw @amyschumer @GQMagazine pics & thought she was just cast in Ep 8! We should be so lucky.
