Angelina Jolie took two of her children, Zahara and Shiloh, to the Teen Choice Awards last night. It was her first public appearance since she announced that she had elected to have preventative ovarian surgery.
Taking to the stage Angelina said, “I wanna say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different.
“Never good at fitting in, and then I realized something, something I hope you all realize — different is good.”
She added, “And as your villain, I would tell you to cause a little trouble. It’s good for you.”

Angelina (39) is mum to daughters Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne (6) as well as sons Pax (11), Maddox (13) and Vivienne’s twin Knox.
Last week she wrote a very personal article about having her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in order to prevent cancer as she is a carrier of the BRCA1 gene.
Jolie lost her mother, her aunt, and her grandmother to cancer and opted for the radical surgery in the hopes of avoiding the same fate.
She revealed how she is currently going through the menopause as a result of surgery.
