The Asus Zenfone 3 was announced all the way back on May 30th, 2016 and Canadians has been waiting for a specific release date announcement. While we still don’t have a release date, we do have information related to pre-orders.
Starting today, Canada Computers has opened up pre-orders for the Asus Zenfone 3 to Canadian consumers.
The ASUS ZenFone 3 has a beautiful all-metal body with the antenna lines hiding in the edges of the device – an excellent design idea that hides the antenna lines on the back. It is a high tp mid-range design that uses a Snapdragon processor and Adreno GPU. This dual SIM device arrives running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with its own ASUS ZenUI 3.0 over the top. ASUS really reworked their ZenFone 2 line when they developed the new ‘3’ line – nicer outside material, better processors, more RAM, faster UFS storage, and a much better camera. Within this first price range, we certainly expect a Full HD resolution display – however, even the flagship model the ZenFone 3 Deluxe uses only a 1080p display.
The ASUS ZenFone 3 sports a 5.5-inch Super IPS+ FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 401 pixels-per-inch (PPI.) It uses a 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, and it uses an Adreno 506 GPU to handle the graphics. It is packing 4GB of RAM and 64GB of UFS memory – expandable via a microSD card. The ZenFone 3 has a 16MP primary camera, complete with laser and phase detection autofocus (PDAF,) 4-axis OIS, an aperture of f/2.0, and a dual-tone flash. The front-facing camera (FFC) is a large 8MP with the same f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video chatting. It comes with a 3000mAh non-removable battery, and fingerprint sensor on the back to unlock the device. The ZenFone 3 has a lot of the usual suspects – WiFi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, IR Blaster, FM radio, and a USB Type-C reversible connector for charging and data transfer.
In Canada, the ZenFone 3 is priced at $429.99.
