A kidnapped boy was rescued when his clueless babysitter saw the Amber Alert for the missing child.
John Tuong realized the kid he was babysitting was kidnapped when an Amber Alert popped up on his Facebook, Fox News reports. Tuong’s sister, Alyssa Chang, had asked if he and his wife could watch her boyfriend’s kid. He agreed, not realizing that the boy — and his mother — were missing. “I’m eating my breakfast, I’m checking my Facebook, all of a sudden I see this Amber Alert for this child,” he said. “And it looks like this child in my bed, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god! What’s going on?'”
Chang has since been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the boy and his mother. It’s suspected that the boy’s grandmother also assisted in the kidnapping. Chang and the grandmother apparently tasered the mother before tying her up and taking the boy. The mother was able to free herself and call for help.
Chang is being held on $250,000 bail and the grandmother has reportedly turned herself in. Tuong will probably never offer to babysit again.
