Bees Swarm Patrol Car on Oklahoma Interstate after Truck Overturns.
An Oklahoma sheriff’s deputy became entrapped in his patrol car Tuesday, terrorized by thousands of swarming bees, after a semi-truck carrying honeybees overturned on an interstate.
Despite his car being covered by the angry insects, Garvin County Deputy Carl Zink was miraculously only stung once, NBC News reports, citing the state Highway Patrol.
Terrifying video footage shows a blanket of bees swallowing the vehicle.
Zink was responding to a report of an overturned truck shortly after 1 p.m. on Interstate 35, about 50 miles south of Oklahoma City, when the bees suddenly swarmed his cruiser.
Despite being trapped, Zink knew he had to capture footage of the intense moment.
It reportedly took several hours for beekeepers to clear the scene. Bud Ramming, the county’s emergency management director, said traffic was backed up for four miles.
