Pennsylvania 10 Year Old Tristen Kurilla Punches Kills 90 Year Old Helen Novak

On Oct. 11, police said, Kurilla was visiting family on Skylake Road in Tyler Hill, and that Novak also lived in the residence.

Police allege that Kurilla entered Novak’s room and, after a dispute, Kurilla punched Novak numerous times in the throat.

Dr. Gary Ross, a forensic pathologist, performed an autopsy on Novak on Monday at the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale after which Ross ruled Novak’s death a homicide.

Kurilla was charged as an adult and arraigned before District Judge Bonnie Carney. No bail was set.

Kurilla was lodged at the Wayne County Prison. Carney set the preliminary hearing for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Wayne County Central Court.
