Who takes $1,000 out of his pocket and gives it to people if they quit smoking for a year?
Bruce Robinson.
Since beginning his personal vendetta against tobacco, the owner of Bruce’s Landscaping Services Ltd. has forked out $6,000 to six strangers who have butted out.
Over the years he’s heard just about every excuse imaginable – including one man who keeps lighting up because he apparently gets nervous when he’s fishing.
Robinson is now trying to crowd-fund a project on Kickstarter.
“I think what I’d like to do is make a documentary on how tough it is to quit smoking,” he said.
He wants to focus on encouraging people to not pick up smoking in the first place.
“When don’t we get it to the kids, or whoever it is we have to get it to and say to these people – ‘don’t start because this is how addicting it is.'”
The project – called “A 1000 Excuses to Quit” has a goal of $45,000.
