Butler County Sheriff wins Facebook fight, makes arrest

Butler County Sheriff wins social media fight, A 21-year-old man was arrested after replying to a Facebook post about the warrant out for his arrest.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office posted photos of Andrew Dale Marcum, of Lemon Township. The 21-year-old is accused of safe cracking, abduction, assault and domestic violence.

Several hours after he was featured on the Facebook page, Marcum commented on the sheriff’s office post:

“I ain’t tripping half of them don’t even know me.” – Andrew Marcum

The sheriff’s office then responded to Marcum’s comment:

“If you could stop by the Sheriff’s Office, that’d be great.” – Butler County Sheriff’s Office

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office posted an update:

“Andrew Dale Marcum will be off Facebook temporarily, because there is no social media access in the Butler County Jail. He’s turned himself in. Thanks to our Facebook and Twitter friends for helping turn up the heat.” – Butler County Sheriff’s Office
