All Canadian NetTalk numbers are fully functioning. In a statement on Facebook NetTalk said that it will compensate users for their “inconvenience.”
Florida-based NetTalk.com Inc. said all features of its Canadian Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service were restored late Wednesday evening.
NetTalk’s outage occurred following a dispute with Iristel Inc., a Markham Ont.-based telecom provider that had been facilitating access to Canadian phone numbers for NetTalk.
The trouble began last Friday, Jan. 18, when people calling the phone numbers of NetTalk customers would get a message that the number was out of service or disconnected.
Customers were frustrated their long-time phone numbers were affected, and concerned about the calls they were missing.
After five days, the two companies announced their numbers would be fully reconnected.
